I adore Pretty Baby, the 1978 film starring Brooke Shields and Susan Sarandon. Try to ignore the fact that the movie is about child prostitution. Focus on 70’s red lips and rosy cheeks, nymphettes- the allure of fleeting innocence, and baby doll tea parties. Brush your hair a hundred times before bed. Wear lace stockings. Put a vase of fresh roses on your mantle. Summer is ending- but I say, let’s play dress up like it will last forever!
