Several years ago my brother took me to see a fantastical Weimar Carberet show, The Citizens Band. I watched breathlessly as painted men and women sang anti-war songs from the 1860’s, 1940’s, and 1960’s- aerialists, accordion playing men in long underwear and military boots, rosy cheeks and false eyelashes… needless to say, the costumes are my cup of tea…. ladies panties, sequins, and more feathers than I could ever dream…. I often design with these lovely ladies in mind.

Madley Yellow Jacket from some years back- when I first started selling clothes at Showpony- straight out of art school- Kime gave me my big break and sold this sweater to Sarah Sophie Flicker, the star of Citizens Band.
